This company makes some really nice cakes. Found them while I was perusing websites. I always get asked about DJs, caterers, videographers, and cake companies so I thouht I’d post something for the massesto digest. Enjoy!
For this cake we designed a winter wonderland theme for the celebration. The top of the cake included a glittery silver “12″ with a variety of light blue and white snowflakes. The second tier is covered in light blue fondant with a white center band with a bow and tails. The center of the bow is highlighted with a crystal snowflake.Flavors and filling included red velvet with vanilla buttercream, chocolate with marshmallow buttercream and vanilla with chocoalte buttercream. We delivered the cake to the Powerhouse in East Hanover, NJ.
Our Valentine’s Dress-Up day was a success. April from Ak Boutique came with her wonderful wardrobe for little girls. On behalf of Josh Barry Photography and AKBoutique we want to thank all of the adorable little girls who came into the studio for our Valentine themed mini-session. Next year we will be planning to incorporate boys clothing for valentine’s day. Just imagine little vests, pin-stripe pants and fedoras. Adorable! Here is one from one of participants. Everyone say hi to Emma. She knew what she wanted to wear and was all to happy to put on her happy face with no effort at all. She makes me look good as a photographer. This one’s ready to model. What eyes!
Nancy and Julian came into my new home studio in Camp Hill, Pa back in Late December for her Maternity session. I knew right after the first click it was going to be a session to remember. These Portraits turned out absolutely stunning.

Party it up at Level 22 night club in Harrisburg. Josh’s Bar Mitzvah was non stop nightclub dancing and partying. So grateful I got to be a part of this exciting event. Here is a favorite taken at his formal session at Ohev Shalom in Harrisburg.
The Hurricane couldn’t stop this party from going the distance despite ceiling tiles getting soggy and needing to be removed half-way through the party. The house rocked hard through the evening and that is thanks to the Lossing family having lots of great friends and themselves being high energy, -pull-no-punches, leave-it-all-out-on-the-dancefloor types of people themselves. Brian was an energizer bunny. He kept going and going. Nothing stopped him from having a great time and dancing until the night was completely over. I’ve never seen anyone put that much energy into having a good time. Seriously, I thought they’d have to carry him off of the dancefloor.
Of course the other reason the party was an over-the-top hit was because of the high energy and experience from the MC’s and dancers at Glyde Productions. MC ICE from Glyde is one of my favorites to work with as he always knows how to cater to the camera and make me look good. I have never worked a party where he was the MC and wasn’t beyond thrilled with how he handles the party. Non stop photo-ops and good times had by all.
Saturday night was a party to remember. It was full of laughter, dancing, and celebration at The Howard County Conservancy in Woodstock, Maryland.
The Sevrin family and friends as well as Phoebe and her large group of friends certainly know how to have a good time.
Why I love what I do.
As a social butterfly I love being around groups of people and have a great time myself. You can really tell when someone loves what they do by the reaction people have to you while doing whatever it is that you do. I get lonely in my cave editing photos and albums so this being the first Party of the season I was drooling at getting out and around groups of people again.
My excitement for my art is personified by this message Phoebe’s Mom, Amie, left for me:
“we’re really excited to see the pictures and I got a great feedback from all of my friends about how wonderful and friendly and professional you were and people left pleading there about you and your wonderful personality”

FIRST tattoo ever for me.
I always wanted them but never knew what I wanted or certainly wasn’t going to pick a piece of flash off of the wall just to rush it.
So by the end of next month yours truly will have my own personal design featured below as a half sleeve on my upper arm.
My great friend and great tattooist Brad will be doing the tattoo at 717 tattoo in harrisburg, pa. They say never let your friends give you tattoos. Well whoever said that probably has some regretable work on their body and also doesn’t have the same talented friends that I do.
My design below I engineered in photoshop CS5. It took me a while to come up with the concept but only a few hours of free time laying in my bed on my laptop to design the concept. If you notice the background image on my blog is my future tattoo.
Its going to take several sittings to do this tattoo so bookmark this blog and keep checking back for updates. Its going to be amazing when its finished.
When I first started taking photographs yesterday for Thoebe’s Bat Mitzvah during her Bimah Portraits session I thought, at first, I might be rusty since I had the summer off. As it turns out, just like every first mitzvah of the year it’s just like riding a bike. I even pulled a new trick or two out of my hat.
Anytime I am at one particular temple/shule a lot I put pressure on myself to come up with something slightly different or new for each family. God forbid they should all get together and compare albums and they all end up looking the same. Each album is a work of art to me. I spend approximately 30-40 hours on each one and want each one to come out perfectly unique.
Now it is no secret that I am not the fast food restaurants of photography studios so working with me does take a little extra time compared to the fast turnaround of other studios. But what I can promise you is similar reactions to this email I received from the Laudenbach Family from Ft. Washington, Pa which reads:
Josh,
Well, Jeff and I have spent much time over the weekend going thru the slideshow. There is so much to look at, just like you had promised. I’m sure EVERY picture that we had ever dreamed of is there, they really are worth waiting for.
This is why I'm never rusty. Well ok ,she is a beautiful young lady so she made my half of the equation easier to solve.
